Battery-Backup and Combination Sump Pump Systems
A primary sump pump depends on household electricity and cannot provide protection during a power outage. A properly installed battery-backup or combination sump pump system can provide additional protection if the power fails, the primary pump stops operating or incoming water exceeds the primary pump’s capacity.
Performance Plumbing Solutions can inspect your existing setup and recommend an appropriate backup option based on the sump pit, discharge arrangement and property conditions. Completed installations are tested to confirm proper pump, float-switch, check-valve and alarm operation. Battery runtime and pumping capacity vary by system, battery condition and the volume of incoming water.
Signs Your Sump Pump Needs Service
A sump pump should be inspected if it does not activate when water enters the pit, runs continuously, cycles frequently, makes unusual noises or leaves the water level unusually high. Visible rust, a stuck float switch, a leaking check valve or water returning through the discharge pipe can also indicate that repair or replacement is required.
If the sump pit is overflowing or the pump has stopped operating during heavy rainfall, contact Performance Plumbing Solutions promptly. Delaying service can increase the risk of basement flooding and property damage.
